A Little History

The Ready Fire Aim cocktail was created by bartender Steve Schneider of Employees Only, NYC.

As mezcal’s popularity surged in the late 2010s, Schneider explored ways to balance its smoky intensity with bold, complementary flavors. 

Ready Fire Aim emerged from that experiment: mezcal paired with pineapple, honey, citrus, and a spicy kick. 

It combines tropical sweetness and sharp heat in a way that both elevates and softens the smoky character.

 Liquor.com describes it as “a mezcal sour … bolstered by smoked chile bitters and a homemade honey-pineapple syrup.” 

Ingredients 

1.75 Ounces Joven Mezcal

0.5 Ounce Fresh Lime Juice

1 Ounce Honey-Pinapple Syrup

0.75 Ounces Pineapple Juice

3 Dashes Habanero Shrub ( Hellfire or Smoked Chili Bitters)

Garnish: Grounded Pink Peppercorn

Method

In a shaker, combine the mezcal, honey-pineapple syrup, pineapple juice, lime juice, and bitters with ice.

Shake until well chilled.

Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish with a light grind of pink peppercorn.
